National Gardening Week is a celebration of gardening launched by the RHS four years ago. Anyone can join in, the RHS website has lots of ideas for activities that families and settings can do together such as: creating a dry garden or school sensory garden; building a bee hotel or, growing herbs in containers. Gardening is great for promoting children’s understanding of the world, developing skills and knowledge in maths, biology, and the environment. Families can bond as they get involved in tactile activities, learn about plants, health and nutrition.
As a great fan of mint in tea, I think I’ll try growing my own, this guide from Sainsbury’s Money Matters Blog is very easy to follow.
